Services for Landholders and businesses

Resilience involves dealing with the land as it is while regeneration requires seeing things as they could be.  Template: Terra Nova implements a whole-systems design approach to transform your site into a highly biodiverse and productive, human-supporting ecosystem.  We believe in understanding the earth as part of a greater whole, simultaneously designing for effective adaptation to a rapidly changing environment and the revitalization of damaged landscapes that a new world of peace and prosperity may materialize.

Landscape literacy allows us to focus on your specific near-term needs in a way that doesn't stifle your land's long-term productivity.  We believe in increasing the richness of your terrain by enhancing the earth's natural mineral, water and energy cycles.  Our regenerative undertakings incorporate carbon-sequestering perennial crops, agroforestry systems, pseudo-native designer forest installation using the Miyawaki Method and pollinator-assisting plant palettes to bolster your site's durability and abundance.

We are dedicated to helping you steward your land and envision the role it plays in the larger landscape.  By bringing your site’s natural assets to life, we are committed to working with you to yield a bountiful legacy for present and future generations.

Indeed, the righteous will be amid Gardens and rivers,
— Quran, Al-Qamar 54: 54
...the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is considered as a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness will remain in the fertile field. And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Then my people will live in a peaceful settlement, In secure dwellings, and in undisturbed resting places.
— Isaiah 32:15-18
Once the [disorganization] is neutralized, refreshing and restitution can begin! [We] will immediately work to restore the earth to its beauty and productivity. …In a spirit of harmony, everyone will pitch in to rebuild the waste places and ruins.
— Acts 3:19-21

Holistic Site Assessment

We begin with two foundational elements: (1) you and (2) your place. Everything else flows effortlessly.  We link aerial and earthen intelligence to take the pulse of your site, allowing the subsequent design of your project to unfold simply and effectively. From site selection to ribbon cutting, our drone assessment provides eye in the sky intelligence that informs our design process through:

-Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment and Construction Oversight

-Real time topographical surveying and inspection for actionable, on-site data and imagery of your terrain

-Live agricultural NDVI and VAR field analysis of crop health variability to maximize yields, minimize threats and reduce costs

-Elevation analysis and 3D modeling to understand how water and sunlight land on your site

Soil, Water and forage Testing, Forensics & Amendment

We use soil, water and forage testing of critical locations on your site to understand:

-soil nutrients and chemical factors that are limiting plant growth

-human and wildlife health by identifying contaminated soils and water supplies

-best management practices for forage production and livestock feeding

We also provides services in support of environmental forensic studies associated with improving the health of your site soil for greater food production and native plant growth and cost/responsibility allocation in contaminated terrestrial and marine environments.  We impart expert advice on:

(1) Petroleum Release Age Dating in which our professionals work with you to review and validate site assessment data and devise a site-specific plan to answer critical questions such as when and how contamination occurred, who caused it, what is the extent and level of contamination, and what is the validity of the data obtained. We form a strong line of scientific evidence that can be used in a court of law.

(2) Agricultural Soil Amendment in which we first determine the needs of your soil through testing nutrient concentration, pH, particle size, moisture content and biological activity and then help you address your land's natural deficiencies through addition of safe organic amendments.

(3) Data Usability Summary Reports (DUSRs) to validate analytical parameters reported by environmental testing labs to ensure quality assurance and control of your soil and water data for peace of mind and environmental compliance.

Ecological Design & Management

Regenerative design harnesses the omnipresent power of living systems.  This wild energy that transforms bedrock, sunshine and rain into lichen, lichen into soil, soil into plants, and plants into animals is the same cyclical force of growth-decay that informs our landscape and building design process and offers you the most comprehensive, cost-effective solution to your project goal. We use computer-aided design to create a plan that maximizes productivity and resilience, minimizes inputs, and augments biological complexity on your site. We also offer post-implementation management consulting based on the Savory Institute Holistic Management Framework. This powerful decision-making system gives you the tools needed to understand nature and make better, more informed decisions about your site with social, environmental and financial considerations.

Forest Installation

We utilize the Miyawaki method to create dense, biodiverse forests that grow 10 times faster and are 30 times denser than those planted by conventional methods, restoring biodiversity at an accelerated pace. These forests not only increase local biodiversity but also improve air quality, reduce noise pollution, incorporate food production and offer a sanctuary for wildlife and humans alike. Each forest is custom-designed to reflect the local ecology, optimizing the choice of species for the soil, climate, and topographical conditions of the site, ensuring they reorganize barren lands into lush, food-bearing green spaces within just a few years.

Technology Integration

All of the nature is information in communication. We integrate Internet of Things (IoT) and LoRaWAN networking technologies to make our ecosystems and communities smarter and more responsive by quantifying that information where possible so that we may make acupunctural interventions that transform and benefit all. These technologies allow for precise management of resources such as water, waste and energy, enable real-time data collection on soil and plant quality and enhance community connectivity, making every living space intelligent and tuned to its inhabitants' needs. This facilitates proactive management and maintenance of ecological and residential systems and allows us to understand and apply whatever this new ecology is calling to be dreamed into being by its human stewards.

Earthen Architecture

Our buildings breathe with the land. By employing materials such as adobe, clay, and cob which are locally sourced and minimally processed to reduce environmental impact, we create structures that naturally regulate temperature and humidity, ensuring comfort while reducing energy use and reliance on heating and cooling systems. This service combines traditional building techniques with modern technology and architectural design, resulting in structures that are both environmentally transformative and uniquely beautiful.

The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.

Innovative Waste Management and Transformation Services

We redefine waste management by transforming waste into valuable resources, thereby fostering a new circular economy. Our services range from personalized compost consultations to the design and installation of advanced pyrolysis plants. In collaboration with allies like CRDC Global, we transform plastic waste into Resin8, an eco-aggregate breakthrough made from mixed plastic waste. This innovative process involves receiving all types of discarded plastics (Resins 1-7) from industrial, municipal, and environmental waste streams. The resulting bulk RESIN8 is then granulated to the size, shape, and gradation required by standard concrete mix designs, providing a sustainable alternative for building materials.

By integrating cutting-edge technologies and eco-friendly methods, Terra Nova empowers communities and businesses to achieve sustainability and economic growth through innovative waste transformation solutions.
